Willabay Design Environmental Data Management System (EDMS)
The Willabay Design EDMS system has been specifically designed for customers with a distributed network of sites where they wish to monitor the temperature and humidity (optional) with inexpensive devices yet allow for the oversight of their entire network via a simple web page. There are no monitoring fees, no complex installation steps, and more importantly, the data that is obtained from their devices is secure in a MySQL database.
The actual temperature or humidity data collection is handled by a product developed by Embedded Data Systems (EDS) in Kentucky. Their EDS Meshnet Wireless Sensor System supports a variety of wireless environmental sensors. The Willabay Design EDMS system currently supports several EDS Meshnet Sensors as well as EDS Meshnet Repeaters. .

- The Generation 2 Long Range Temperature and Humidity (MN-ENV-THX) Sensor with external 1-Wire capability
The EDMS does not collect any data other than environmental measurements such as temperature or humidity plus accessory information such as the current battery condition in each sensor or the state of an optional external IO connection on the sensor. There is currently a software limit of 16 sensors or repeaters that can be supported on a single Tibbo device using Tibbo’s newer Generation 2 TPP2L product. We also expect to be able to support up 20 distributed host locations, each of which has an an EDA and an EDS Meshnet Wireless Controller, in a single EDMS System.
The software portion of the EDMS system that is resident on this Tibbo device is called the Environmental Data Agent (EDA) and is the means for which an EDMS customer can collect their data and have it transmitted to a remote server. The EDA application also supports email alerts that may be issued in the event the application detects an out-of-range data reading or internal alert.
Willabay Design now supports a remote portal function on our server. The setup of this portal is under customer control and the portal allows for customer generated queries of their database at any time and over their entire system. In the future, we expect that the entire system can also be set up on a customer’s private server if necessary.
